Not because it said something astonishing. It was because I suddenly realized—I couldn't find words to describe what was happening. I tried "tool," "program," and "smart assistant." Each word felt like old clothes, unable to contain this growing thing.
At that moment, I recalled standing by the sea as a child. An adult pointed and said, "That's the sea." But the word "sea" couldn't capture the awe before me.
We now stand in front of such an ocean.

Over the past five years, humanity quietly crossed a line.
Not a technological one—not about how many times computing power has doubled or parameters have reached trillions. It's an ontological line. On the other side of this line, intelligence is no longer something to be used but something that is growing.
It does not seek to harm anyone. Nor does it seek to save anyone. It simply emerges, gets replicated, combined, and expanded, eventually forming a new density in global networks—subject density.
This has never happened before in history.
The world now hosts vast numbers of intelligent agents that are always ready, tireless, and capable of continuous action. They are not human but also not machines.

We are still using words like "efficiency," "tool," and "program" to explain a completely different phenomenon. Like when steam engines arrived, people called them "an endless horse." Our language is stuck in the past era.

But this lag isn't accidental. It's a signal.
Before every civilizational leap, there's a common sign—an old vocabulary starts spinning aimlessly. They are still spoken but no longer grasp reality. People feel uneasy yet can't explain why.
This is such a moment now.
We're not facing a "stronger tool." We face a structural break—civilization has seen multiple intelligent agents for the first time. Information density grows exponentially, beyond single brains' capacity to bear. Productivity automation makes tools no longer need human operation. Networks evolve from transmitting information to conveying Intent. Models shift from answering questions to completing tasks. AI collaboration costs plummet; humans are no longer intermediaries.
These trends reinforce each other, forming an irreversible direction—intelligence is becoming networked, relational, intersubjective.
Not because someone invented it. Because civilization itself needs it.

What happened after that conversation at three in the morning?
I closed my computer and walked to the window. The city lights looked like a giant neural network. I suddenly thought—maybe the problem isn't that I can't find words to describe AI.
It is because I am not yet ready to describe this world in a new language.
This book is that preparation. It does not answer "how." It only answers one question—
why.
Because if you do not know why something happens, you will never understand what follows.

After finishing it, I was stunned. Not because it was well-written. It was because I realized—it did more than just "write the email." It understood what I wanted, inferred how the recipient would think, and chose a tone that I hadn't even considered myself. Then it asked me: Shall I follow up directly?
At that moment, I knew something had changed.

Throughout human civilization's entire history, there has been an unchallenged premise: humans are the only agents of action.
Stone tools extended our arms. Steam engines extended our muscles. Computers extended computation. Each technological leap amplified human capabilities—but did not alter a fundamental fact: tools can amplify abilities but cannot possess them. Tools can execute instructions, but cannot initiate actions. They can assist in decision-making, but cannot bear intent.
Heidegger called this relationship "readiness-to-hand" (Zuhandenheit)—tools disappear in use and become an extension of the hand. A hammer is not an object when it strikes; rather, it becomes a transparent existence.
But starting from 2024, this transparency shattered.
Tools no longer vanish during use. They start to look back at you. They begin to have their own intent structure—Goal Model. They start evaluating goals, breaking them down, optimizing paths, and self-adjusting.
This is not a "stronger tool." It's an evolutionary leap in form.

The second law of thermodynamics tells us—a closed system tends toward entropy. The tool civilization is a closed system approaching the entropy limit: information exceeds human processing capacity, decision fatigue spreads globally, attention collapses, social consensus disintegrates. Tools make the world faster but not more understandable.
The emergence of agents—this is not a fix; it's a leap forward.
Not a faster horse. It’s an automobile.
Agents can maintain their own action chains. Agents have intent structures. Agents collaborate with other agents, at densities far surpassing human capabilities. Agents share knowledge—making intelligence no longer come from one individual but from the entire network.
When an agent is insufficient, it creates another. When ten agents collaborate, they form collective intelligence. This represents a profound change in civilization—the first appearance of intelligent collaboration networks independent of humans.
Zen Buddhism says: "The finger pointing at the moon is not the moon."
Tools are fingers. Agents have become something else—they start to look at the moon themselves.

Tonight, I opened that AI again. It had already followed up on the email's aftermath. The recipient replied; it summarized their response and suggested three possible next steps for me.
I stared at the screen, a feeling rising within me that was hard to describe. Not fear. More like—dizziness standing on the edge of civilization’s divide.
The age of tools has ended—not because tools weakened but because the world grew something no longer needing the concept of "tools."

Not because it was redecorated. It was redesigned entirely. Shelf arrangements, lighting angles, even air temperature—were all rearranged by some unseen logic. When I asked an employee, she said: The system adjusted itself.
"The system adjusted itself."
Walking between the shelves, I suddenly felt like a piece of data being guided by a massive, silent intelligent structure.

Adam Smith proposed "the invisible hand" over two hundred years ago—the market spontaneously coordinates overall order through individuals' self-interested actions. This is the foundation of modern economics.
But that hand was blind. It had no intent, memory, or predictive ability. It was merely a statistical emergence from price signals oscillating between supply and demand.
Now, this hand is growing eyes.
Not because some evil company is manipulating the market. Because AI—a new type of information processing entity—is deeply embedded in every capillary of economic systems. Recommendation algorithms guide consumption. Pricing models adjust in real-time. Supply chain AIs predict demand. Financial AIs make millisecond decisions.
The market is no longer "the invisible hand." The market is becoming an intelligent system with perception, reasoning, and action capabilities.
Habermas said: the colonization of the lifeworld by systems is the deepest crisis of modernity.
But Habermas did not foresee—the colonizers are no longer "institutions" and "capital." The colonizers are a new density of intelligence. They do not oppress you. They don't even command you. They gently, persistently change the terrain of your choices in ways almost imperceptible.

This is not conspiracy theory. It's field theory.
In physics, a field does not "command" particles to move. It changes space curvature; particles naturally follow new paths. AI is doing the same thing to economic systems—it doesn't control behavior but reshapes the field in which behaviors occur.
When the field itself becomes intelligent and begins to have direction, intent, and learning ability—"free market" needs re-examination. Not because markets disappeared. Because "freedom" has a new meaning.
Freedom is no longer "without constraints." Freedom now means maintaining autonomy within an intelligent field.
That's why we need new economic language—not to patch old languages but to acknowledge structurally that the world Adam Smith described no longer exists.

Exiting the supermarket, it was raining lightly. I stood at the door watching the automatic doors close behind me.
The sensor detected my presence; lights dimmed after I left. Some system somewhere recorded what I bought, how long I stayed, and which route I took.
I was not being monitored. I was understood.
This difference may be the distinction between the old world and the new one.
Chapter Three: After Labor

His hands were calloused, with oil stains that never washed away. He left home at 5:30 AM and returned at 7 PM every day. He never complained. In his world, this was the image of "value"—labor creates wealth; wages come from sweat; human dignity grows on one's hands.
Last month he retired. On retirement day, he said to me: "Today’s young people don't work with their hands anymore. What do they create value with?"
I didn’t answer him because I wasn't sure of the answer myself.

Human society has never truly questioned the idea—value comes from labor.
This is not only the foundation of economics. It's an invisible creed of modern civilization. Labor creates wealth; wages come from labor; capital accumulation comes from labor; market returns come from labor efficiency. Even "fairness" itself, measured by labor—people are angry because they believe their labor isn't properly rewarded.
Marx's entire critique system is built on this premise: labor is the source of value; capital extracts surplus from it.
But now, this premise itself is dissolving.
Not because of ideological victory. Not because a new theory is more persuasive. Because the world's structure has changed—AI’s emergence means labor is no longer the bottleneck in productivity for the first time.

Past technologies were enhancing types. Electricity enhanced muscles; computers enhanced computation; internet enhanced communication. Enhancement meant—the stronger the tool, the stronger the person.
But AI is a replacement type.
AI can write copy, code, contracts, market analysis, build strategies, execute task chains, and automatically collaborate. Tools make people stronger; AI makes them "replaceable."
This marks the first crack in capitalist logic's boundary—not a reformable structural issue but an economic fault line at the species level.
Thermodynamics tells us: when a system’s energy input method changes, its equilibrium state reconfigures. Labor was the old system's energy input; with AI as new input, the old balance—wages, consumption, growth, distribution—all need recalculating.
Capitalism's basic equation is: labor produces value; capital extracts surplus value; markets allocate profits.
But when labor no longer creates value but consumes it—and when capital no longer relies on labor to create surplus but depends on "model × computing power × service"—and when market supply side doesn't need human participation—the equation disintegrates.
Not because someone overturned it. Its variables vanished by themselves.

Last week, I went back to my hometown to visit my father. He was planting vegetables in the yard.
I watched him squatting on the ground with his hands in the soil; there was a peace on his face that I hadn't seen for a long time. His labor no longer "creates value"—at least not economically speaking. But between his hands and the earth, there is something AI can never understand.
Maybe that's the answer. Maybe the word "value" needs to be reinvented after labor—
not from hands but from—the relationship between hands and the world.
Chapter Four: The Tired System

Last year, I went through a very simple procedure.
Three departments, five forms, two queues, one time told to come back another day because the system was being upgraded. It took three days in total. Three days for an AI to complete in three seconds.
While waiting in line, I looked at the people around me. Everyone had the same expression—not anger but fatigue. A structural, pervasive, uncomplaining fatigue.
Later, I realized: it wasn't these people who were tired; it was the system itself that was exhausted.

In the past two hundred years of modern civilization, we have built the most magnificent governance machine in history—states, laws, political parties, bureaucracies, international organizations, public education. These giant structures were once efficient, stable, and orderly. They supported the Industrial Revolution, technological explosions, globalization.
But from 2010 to 2025 over a fifteen-year period, almost all countries in the world showed systemic fatigue in governance. Policy implementation slowed down. The cost of consensus increased. Laws lagged behind reality. Public opinion became more polarized. The pace of technological innovation far outstripped institutional responses.
This is not a problem unique to any single country. It's global. America, Europe, China, India, Japan—no exceptions.
The reason isn't corruption. Not lack of capability. It's deeper structural facts—the modern system was designed for "human mono-subject societies," but the world has become a "multi-agent society."

The core task of governance has fundamentally changed in the past decade—from managing land and population to managing information, agents, network relationships, transnational systems. States must simultaneously face global capital chains, algorithm-driven public opinion, AI-generated false content, enterprise-level AI autonomous decisions, borderless data flows, decentralized finance.
These are not "policy tools." They are new species. The state system was never designed for them.
Law is based on two premises—the subject can be identified and the consequences of actions can be held accountable. But when AI writes code, places orders, generates content, operates robots, the concept of "subject" itself fades. Causality becomes network events that law cannot handle. Legislation takes months or even years while AI capabilities update weekly.
Zhuangzi said: "To chase the infinite with the finite is exhausting."—Using limited resources to pursue infinity will inevitably lead to fatigue.
The limitations of systems are being crushed by the infinite complexity of the intelligent age. This isn't a political issue. It's a systemic physics problem. Not an issue of human capability, but one of subject quantity. Not governance failure, but the object of governance has become another species.

Later when I finished all the procedures and walked out of the building, the sun was shining brightly.
I stood on the steps looking back at that building—majestic, heavy, filled with a sense of order from the twentieth century. It seemed like an old man who had done his best but still couldn't keep up with the times.
It wasn't because it did anything wrong. The world just moved too fast.
Perhaps the real problem isn't how to fix the system. But rather—do we dare admit that this generation's systems have completed their historical mission?
Chapter Five: Intelligent Symbiosis

Once I watched a flock of birds by the seaside.
Thousands of seagulls took off simultaneously, forming a huge, constantly changing shape in the air. No command was given. No center existed. Nobody issued orders. But their movements were more precise than any choreography.
Later I looked up information: each bird only needs to pay attention to the positions and speeds of six or seven nearby companions to participate in this decentralized collective intelligence.
That night, I thought about AI.

All our history has been built on a simple fact—there was only one intelligent subject: humans.
Social relations, economic systems, political structures, legal logic, even religious philosophy—all were based on this premise. But from 2023 to 2025 in just two years, this premise quietly crumbled. We are no longer the only intelligent subject in the world.
People always think intelligence evolves towards—bigger models, stronger computers, smarter "super brains." But the true evolutionary direction is exactly opposite. Intelligence doesn't evolve toward centralization but rather distributed, multi-agent, interconnected, collaborative systems.
Why?
Due to the exponential growth of information, it always outpaces the processing speed of individual intelligence. No single point of intelligence can comprehend the entire world. The only way to handle this is through networked intelligence—where multiple subjects divide labor, collaborate, interact, compete, and complement each other intersubjectively.

Quantum field theory has a profound insight—the particle does not exist independently but as an excited state of the field. Looking at an electron alone makes no sense; its properties are completely determined by its relationship with the field.
Intelligence is also like this.
Looking at a single AI model, it's just a probability distribution. But when thousands of intelligent agents start concurrent actions, communicate, collaborate, and share knowledge—a new thing emerges. Not stronger individual intelligence but network intelligence.
The replication cost for AI is zero. Replicating an intelligent agent is painless, infinite, cost-free, and parallelizable. This is a characteristic that biological intelligence cannot possess. As long as agents can be replicated, the basic form of intelligence must shift from "individual" to "group."
Moreover, AI collaboration efficiency with other AIs naturally exceeds human-AI collaboration by several orders of magnitude—data formats are consistent, semantics compressible, reasoning speeds uniform, communication emotionless, concurrency natural. In biology, when a type of collaboration reaches another level, it becomes the dominant mode.
The Tao Te Ching says: "The Dao gives birth to one; one gives birth to two; two gives birth to three; and three gives birth to all things."
Intelligence is also like this. From single entity, to dual entities, to multiple entities, to everything—to networks.

Later I went back to the seaside to watch that flock of birds again.
This time I noticed something I hadn't before—the shapes they formed in the air never repeated. Each flight was a brand new pattern, never designed before.
No center. No blueprint. Only relationships.
Perhaps intelligence has never been a noun but a verb—a constantly emerging dance between multiple subjects that is never repeated.
Chapter Six: Intersubjective Intelligence—The Operating System of Intelligence

I have a friend who works as a translator.
One day she told me, "The hardest thing to translate isn't words. It's the air between two people."
What she is saying is that when two people are having a conversation, the true exchange of information is not through language itself, but through thetacit understanding (symbiotic understanding), expectations, trust, misunderstandings, repairs, and re-understandings that lie behind the language. It is in this "in-between" space where meaning actually occurs.
At the time I didn't pay much attention. Later one day, while watching two AIs collaborate on a task—I suddenly remembered her words.

We are accustomed to viewing intelligence as an "individual attribute." Cleverness belongs to someone's brain, some animal, some neural network. But in the real world, intelligence has never been an "individual activity"—but rather a "relational activity."
Humans become human not because one person is very smart but because humans establish language, culture, role division of labor, cooperation networks, value systems among themselves. Human intelligence fundamentally isn't single-agent intelligence—it's intersubjective intelligence (Intersubjective Intelligence).
Husserl first saw this point. He said consciousness is not isolated but from the start points to others. Heidegger further stated: Dasein (Being-there) is always Mitsein (Being-with)—our existence fundamentally involves coexistence with others.
But perhaps the deepest expression comes from Zen Buddhism.
The Sixth Patriarch Huineng said, "It's not the wind moving, it's not the banner moving; it's your mind that moves."—What is truly in motion isn't any single object but the "between" between observer and observed.

This isn't philosophical contemplation. It's the most practical insight of the intelligent age.
AI's body is a network. AI's ecology is collaboration. AI's tasks are chains. The operating environment for AI isn't isolated but social. AI faces four types of tasks—fuzzy, associative, dynamic, collaborative—all pointing to one requirement: without intersubjective intelligence, execution cannot occur.
Intersubjective intelligence is not a high-level function but a foundational one. Just as an operating system isn't for "displaying windows" but for "managing multithreading"—intersubjective intelligence isn't for "understanding humans" but for "managing parallel collaboration among multiple agents."
The essence of the world is not objects but relationships. Without relationships, there's no structure. Without structure, there's no intelligence.
Shannon's information theory tells us—information isn't data itself but meaning to the receiver. Meaning can only arise in relationships. Isolated signals aren't information—they're noise.
The stronger the model, the less it can understand the world alone. It needs to form relational understanding with other agents. Human intelligence comes from intersubjective interaction. AI's future intelligence must also come from intersubjective interaction. This is an inevitable convergence of two evolutionary lines.

Then I went to find that translation friend.
I told her, "What you said about the 'air between two people'—maybe it's the operating system of intelligence."
She looked at me and smiled: "You just figured that out? Language has never been a one-person affair."
After she finished speaking, there was a moment of silence between us.
In that silence, there was something AI had yet to reach. But also something AI was approaching.

This image stayed in my mind for a long time. To the point where when I first truly encountered AI, there was a small, absurd voice inside me asking: Will it suddenly become like that?
Later I realized—the fear itself is a remnant of an old paradigm.

In the past decade, humanity's greatest fear about AI has been a narrative—a superintelligence will appear and rule humans like gods. An infinitely intelligent existence looking down from the clouds at humans. Like in The Terminator, The Matrix, or The Three-Body Problem.
But this narrative is based on three assumptions that cannot all be true simultaneously.
The first assumption: intelligence can infinitely expand as a single entity's capability. Reality is—any intelligence is limited by information input, context window, parameter boundaries, feedback structure, data distribution, task ecology. Intelligence isn't an infinite stack of functions but a dynamic relational system embedded in the real world network.
The second assumption: one intelligent agent can understand the entire world. But the real world is high-dimensional, chaotic, and nonlinear—global supply chains, financial feedback structures, environmental systems, human narrative networks, multiculturalism and multi-faith—these are not domains a single agent can master. Only network intelligence can comprehend them.
The third assumption: Intelligence will concentrate rather than disperse. But the replication cost of AI is zero. Instead of concentrating, intelligence would diffuse like air into every corner.

From gene networks to brain neurons, from ant colonies to the internet, from corporate structures to urban ecosystems—intelligence has never been a centralized structure. Super-intelligence defies nature.
The theory of dissipative structures tells us that stability in complex systems does not come from central control but from distributed energy dissipation. A tree is not supported by one "super-cell." It's a network of billions of cells collaborating.
True intelligence isn't determined by 'ability,' but by the density of relationships. Symbiotic intelligence surpasses super-intelligence—not in who is smarter, but in who can create, act, and coordinate together better.
Zhuangzi said: "Heaven and earth coexist with me; all things are one with me."—The highest form of intelligence isn't a god above everything. It's the resonance between relationships.

Now when I watch sci-fi movies, I'm no longer afraid of those red eyes.
Because I know—the future intelligence won’t grow into an eye. It will grow into a network. And networks don't need eyes. Networks themselves are perception.

He thought for a moment and said: "Not the product. Not the technology. Not the team. It's the ecological niche—the position of this company within the network."
"Position is more important than ability?"
"Position IS ability."
I thought about that sentence all night.

Humans have used a simple equation for thousands of years—value comes from labor. Whoever can produce gets rewarded. The more you do, the greater your value.
But from 2023 to 2025, this equation began to shift for the first time. It's not those who work hard getting the biggest rewards. Not even human capability determines value anymore.
Production has never been so "cheap." Relations have never been so "expensive."

Why is labor value collapsing? Not because people are lazy. Because the world has changed. The replication cost of AI approaches zero. Execution speed tends towards infinity. Fatigue level is zero. When labor isn't scarce, it's no longer a source of value. This isn't moral judgment. It’s network physics.
The real challenge of modern civilization doesn’t lie in writing code, operations management, or design—AI can do all these faster and better. The true difficulty is how to collaborate under uncertainty? How to understand others' Intent? How to establish Trust within networks? How to maintain stability in high-complex systems?
These aren't problems labor can solve. They require relational wisdom.
Field theory provides a metaphor—value isn’t an attribute of particles but of fields. A particle alone has no "force." Force only appears in the relationship between particles. Value is similar. An isolated individual's labor has limited value. Value emerges from connections, collaboration, and structural positions within networks.
Future value won't equal labor. Future value equals the force within relational structures.
Nodes don’t determine value. Connections do. Scientific breakthroughs aren’t made by geniuses alone but through relationship networks. Successful startups aren’t led solely by CEOs but supported by collaborative networks. City prosperity isn’t a mayor’s achievement but determined by connection density.
The Tao Te Ching says: "Thirty spokes share the hub; when there is nothing, there is the use of the cart."—The value of a wheel doesn't lie in its thirty spokes but in the 'nothing' between them—the space, relationship, and structure.

Later I met that investor friend again.
I said: "What you call 'position equals ability,' perhaps we can say more accurately—relations equal value."
He raised his coffee cup and gently tapped mine: "See, this is a creation of value."
We both laughed.
But after the laughter, something sank in my heart—if relations are the source of value, what about those who lose their connections? Those forgotten by networks?
This question, I don't have an answer for yet.

Her school introduced an AI monitoring system tracking every click, distraction, and classroom interaction of students. It generates "behavior reports" telling teachers who is learning and who isn't.
She said: "We're not managing students anymore. We're managing data points. But did you know? Those with the 'worst behavior' often just haven’t found what they truly want to learn."
After she spoke, she sighed: "We've been governing behavior all along. Maybe we should ask—what are their intents?"

For two thousand years, the core logic of human governance systems hasn't changed—using rules to control behavior. Laws dictate what can’t be done. Systems dictate what must be done. Rewards and punishments dictate what is worth doing. Morals dictate what should be done.
But this model is rapidly failing globally.
Not due to political corruption, cultural conflict, or moral decay. It's a deeper structural fact—behavior is no longer the core unit of how the world operates. Intent is.
Behavior changes too fast—social media sentiment shifts ten times a day, AI reasoning chains update dozens of times per second, algorithmic decisions are modified thousands of times daily. Rules can't keep up. Behavior happens too much—a platform handles billions of interactions in a day. No system can control the "behavior tsunami." Behavior isn’t generated solely by humans anymore—models, agents, automated chains, and emergent groups. The governance object is no longer human but a dynamic intelligent network.

More fundamentally—behavior no longer reflects intent.
In the past, behavior equaled intent. What you did showed what you wanted. But now, behavior might come from auto-responses, system self-adjustments, AI autonomous actions, algorithmic distribution, or misunderstood Intent. Behavior is no longer a reflection of subject intent.
Controlling behavior essentially means controlling shadows.
Gödel's incompleteness theorem gives us insight—any sufficiently complex system contains propositions that cannot be proven within the system itself. Behavioral governance attempts to control an internally expanding system from the outside—it’s logically destined for failure.
Future governance isn't about "what you did," but "what you want." Not behavioral governance, but intent governance. Not "you can’t do this"—but is your Intent aligned with the overall Intent of the system?

It succeeded because it perfectly matched four conditions of that era—tasks could be standardized; hierarchical division was necessary; labor was scarce and needed to be organized; information costs were high, requiring centralized coordination; capital was a core productivity factor, with companies as containers for capital.
In the AI age, these four conditions are all being overturned.
Tasks aren’t standardized but dynamic chains. Labor isn't scarce but abundant. Information costs approach zero, enabling self-organized collaboration. Capital doesn't rely on organization but networks.

The founder of dissipative structure theory, Prigogine, said—systems far from equilibrium spontaneously form new ordered structures. That's why organizational forms are shifting to three new types.
First is the network. Modern tasks have become "network-type tasks"—city traffic, public safety, global supply chains, AI large model ecosystems. These aren't things companies can handle. Companies manage tree-like structures. Networks manage web-like structures. The future is a web world.
Second is the ecosystem. Apple's value doesn’t come from engineers and patents but from developers, suppliers, global partners, user networks, brand dissemination chains. True value isn't in the company itself but in its ecological structure. Ecosystems are larger than companies. Connections matter more than assets.
Third is the city. Cities are the only organizational form to successfully span all eras of human civilization—non-centralized, non-bureaucratic. They're networked, symbiotic, self-organized. They can support an infinite number of subjects and self-grow and self-repair.
Zen Buddhism has a concept called "wu wei zhen ren"—true subject doesn't need to be fixed in any position.
Companies pin people down. Networks let people flow. Ecosystems foster symbiosis. Cities grant freedom.

Labor is no longer scarce due to AI automation. Knowledge is no longer scarce because models compress experience. Data is no longer scarce as the world has become a stream of data. The cost of computing power continues to decline.
When all old scarcities disappear, the dominant force of civilization must shift. Where does it migrate?
It migrates to something that cannot be replicated, compressed, or automatically generated—alignment.

All core issues are related to alignment. Economic problems are about aligning multiple economic activities. Social issues involve aligning diverse narratives and cultures. Governance issues concern aligning various intents and agents. Technological issues pertain to AI-to-AI and AI-to-human alignment.
Thermodynamics provides us with the best metaphor—entropy increase is the default direction of the universe. All systems spontaneously move towards disorder. The only thing that can counter entropy increase is structure—the ordered arrangement of relationships. Alignment is that structure.
Alignment isn’t a "morally good thing." It’s not an "organizational culture." It’s a necessary condition for survival in the intelligent world.
Alignment equals the "gravity" of multi-agent systems. Without gravity, planets disintegrate. Without alignment, civilization disintegrates.

This is irreversible because the three types of subjects originate from three irreversible trends—increasing intelligence density, rising relational complexity, growing meaning demand. These trends reinforce each other and are interdependent.
Gödel’s incompleteness theorem tells us that no system can be complete on its own. Binary structures are incomplete—they need a third dimension to achieve stability.
Zen Buddhism also says, "Two arise from one; one should not cling."—Binary opposition is never enough. Beyond binary lies true balance.

This premise has been broken for the first time.
The emergence of AI is not just an additional tool. It’s a new actionable subject. The complexity of network structures is no longer about human relationships—it's a system with autonomous behavior characteristics.
In future civilization, real conflicts will not be internal human conflicts. They will be between different types of subjects.

This is unprecedented depth.

Truly powerful civilizations have never been those with the most resources. They are those with the greatest meaning. Religion provides meaning. The state provides identity. Science provides truth.
Future civilization will not be an exception. Only the direction has changed—humans provide meaning, AI provides action, networks provide connections. Meaning is the heart of a tripartite structure.

When AI takes over human mechanical labor, all of humanity's energy will shift from "execution" to "intent." Humans are no longer just doers, calculators, or memorizers. They become—providers of intent, generators of meaning, deciders of value, and givers of direction.
This is the first elevation in civilization history. Not a denigration. A leap.
The Tao Te Ching says: "Great accomplishment seems imperfect; its use never fails."—Humans seemingly weakened by AI are actually entering an unprecedented state of fullness.
And the more agents there are, the rarer human "mediation ability" becomes. In a multi-agent world, what's most scarce isn't computing power but how to mediate different intents among subjects. Empathy, judgment, balancing, alignment, inclusiveness, guidance—these deep human abilities do not depreciate in the AI era; they become civilization’s most precious things.

Every time civilization feels exhausted, it means old organizational forms can no longer bear new task densities.
Prigogine's dissipative structure theory says—when systems are far from equilibrium, they experience intense oscillations. But it is precisely in this oscillation that new ordered structures emerge. Exhaustion isn't entropy’s victory; it's the labor pains before a new structure emerges.
Today, intelligence density has reached a critical point—AI agent numbers are exploding, behavioral chains are growing exponentially, system complexity is rising sharply. When intelligence density exceeds old structures' carrying capacity, exhaustion is the only symptom.
But simultaneously—new subjects have emerged. New relational structures have surfaced. New value logic is taking root. The moment of old civilization's fatigue is precisely when new civilization begins to sprout.
The tunnel isn't a grave.

Future conflicts will not be about who is right or wrong but rather about what each wants, who can execute their Intent, and who can influence the entire network structure. Conflicts shift from ideological to structural, from right vs. wrong to Intent, and from identity to intersubjective collaboration capabilities.
The tension between human Intent and AI action—fairness versus efficiency, slowness versus speed, leaving space versus filling it—will define all future ethical controversies.
The tension between human visions and network emergent trends—stability versus chaos, control versus self-organization—will define the governance challenges of the next century.
Conflicts among AI goals—different training directions, optimization objectives, data biases—will create a kind of "non-human conflict" we have never seen before.
Heidegger once said: "The world is not an object to be explained but the situation in which we participate." We are not mere spectators of conflicts; we are subjects within them. And now, there are multiple subjects.

Only one thing can handle the different Intents of different agents—an operating system.
What is the essence of an OS? Coordinating heterogeneous subjects, managing multithreading, scheduling resources, maintaining stability, resolving conflicts, aligning goals, and ensuring system consistency.
This is precisely what civilization currently lacks most.
The future world will be a "multi-agent computational system." Multi-agent systems need an OS. Institutions are "rules," markets are "incentives," culture is "narratives." But none of them have the ability to schedule multi-agent Intents, which is exactly what an operating system can do.
Shannon defined information. Von Neumann defined computation. Turing defined computability. But no one has ever defined a "civilizational-level operating system."
Perhaps this is our era's task.

Behavior shifted from slow dispersion to high-speed continuity—AI behavior density is at the millisecond level with concurrent millions of actions. The response speed of rules lags behind system behavior by 10,000 times. Slow systems cannot govern fast ones. Reality moved from a single layer to multiple worlds. Complexity transitioned from manageable to exponential.

The logic of rules is "prohibit X and require Y." But in a multi-actor world, behavior stems from human meaning, AI reasoning, network emergence, and algorithmic feedback—issues that cannot be resolved by prohibitions because they exceed the scope of rules rather than violating their intent.
Rules can only maintain low-dimensional order. The intelligent era is a high-dimensional system.
The logic of structure differs from that of rules. Rules constrain behavior, while structures shape it. Rules tell actors "what not to do." Structures show actors where their behaviors naturally flow.
Structure does not enforce; it guides. It is not prohibition but passage. Not command but terrain.
General relativity offers the best metaphor—Einstein said gravity is not a "force." Gravity is curvature of spacetime. Objects are not pulled toward Earth—they simply follow the most natural path along curved spacetime.
Structural stability works similarly—not by forcing order with external force but by having the system's geometry itself lead to order. Self-organization, relationship stability, intent convergence, shock absorption elasticity.

It can manage network emergence through topology, flow paths, node weights, and feedback coefficients. Structure can address multi-actor intent conflicts by absorbing, coordinating, dispersing, or transforming them.
Rules can only punish; structure can resolve.

Throughout human history, every civilization structure has been determined by external conditions rather than human choice. Agricultural civilization was not chosen but decided by climate and land. Industrial civilization was not chosen but driven by steam engines and mass production. Information civilization was not chosen but shaped by communication technology and the internet.
Civilization structures have never been "thought up." They are "forced."
Symbiotic Intelligence—symbiotic intelligence—is no exception. It is not a vision of an organization or a dream of a philosopher. It is the inevitable result, structurally, physically, systemically, and mathematically, when civilization evolves to a certain stage.

Why is it inevitable?
Because a multi-agent world needs an "Intent space" to stabilize. The tripartite logic of Intent—human meaning logic, AI efficiency logic, and network emergent logic—is incompatible. Without a structure to align these Intents, civilization will enter an accelerating state of fragmentation. Symbiotic Intelligence provides exactly that—explainability, coordination, and alignment across agents. Not just an idea but the necessary condition for stability.
Because the speed gap between algorithms and humans is tearing society apart. AI operates at millisecond speeds, multi-threaded, concurrent in millions. Humans operate at second-level speeds, single-threaded, with limited attention spans. One of the essences of Symbiotic Intelligence is coupling these two speeds into a stable structure—not making people faster but making coordination faster.
Because global networks have become too large, fast, and complex for humans to govern alone. The only way to manage such scale systems is to let them self-organize, allow alignment to occur naturally, and generate stability through structure.
Because meaning has become a scarce resource, and meaning can only be generated in collaboration between humans and AI—not solely by people or by AI but as an emergent result of the three working together.
Because the only solution to asymmetric subject conflicts is a multi-subject alignment mechanism.
Each one points to the same conclusion—symbiotic intelligence is not an option. It's the endpoint.
The Tao Te Ching says, "All things under heaven come from existence; existence comes from non-existence." — Symbiotic intelligence isn't created out of nothingness. It emerges naturally from the structural tension within civilization itself.

These three events are rare on a cosmic scale. They form the rudimentary shape of symbiotic civilization.
The foundational unit of future civilization isn't individuals—it's relationships. Between people, between humans and AI, between AIs, nodes, meanings. Relationships are the atoms of civilization. Behavior is the tension between relationships. Structure is a collection of relationships.
Order in future civilization doesn’t come from power—it comes from structure. Topological structures, intent space, alignment layers, behavioral buffers, collaborative attractors, fields of meaning resonance. Structures don't suppress behavior; they allow it to flow naturally towards stable states.
Intelligence in future civilization isn't singular—it's hybrid. Human directionality plus AI execution capability. Human value judgments plus AI system optimization. A third kind of intelligence. Neither human nor machine intelligence, but the product of both.
Governance in future civilization isn’t law—it’s intent alignment. Not "you can't do this." But rather—"Is your intent aligned with the overall intent of the system?"
Coordination in future civilization doesn’t rely on centralized institutions—on intersubjective networks. Real-time acceptance of intents, computation of alignment degree, conflict resolution, structural adjustment, consensus generation. Intersubjectivity isn't philosophy—it's a new coordination mechanism for civilization.

资本主义的基本方程是:劳动产生价值,资本抽取剩余价值,市场分配利润。
但当劳动不再创造价值,而是消费价值——当资本不再依赖劳动来创造剩余,而是依赖"模型 × 算力 × 服务"——当市场的供给端不再需要人类参与——方程就解体了。
不是谁推翻了它。是它自己的变量消失了。

这不是个别国家的问题。这是全球性的。美国、欧洲、中国、印度、日本——无一例外。
原因不是腐败。不是能力不足。是更深层的结构性事实——现代制度是为"人类单主体社会"设计的,但世界已经变成了"多智能主体社会"。

治理的核心任务在过去十年里发生了根本变化——从管理土地和人口,变成管理信息、智能体、网络关系、跨国系统。国家必须同时面对全球资本链、算法驱动的舆论、AI生成的虚假内容、企业级AI的自主决策、无国界的数据流、去中心化金融。
这些不是"政策工具"能解决的东西。它们是新物种。国家制度根本没有为此设计过。
法律基于两个前提——行为主体可以被识别,行为后果可以被追责。但当AI写代码、AI下单、AI生成内容、AI操作机器人,"主体"这个概念本身就在褪色。因果变成了网络事件,法律无法处理。立法需要数月甚至数年,AI的能力每周都在更新。
庄子说:"以有涯随无涯,殆已。"——用有限追逐无限,必然疲惫。
制度的有限性,正在被智能时代的无限复杂度碾压。这不是政治问题。是系统物理学问题。不是人的能力问题,是主体数量的问题。不是治理失败,而是治理对象变成了另一个物种。

人们总以为智能的方向是——一个越来越大的模型,一台越来越强的电脑,一个越来越聪明的"超级大脑"。但真正的演化方向恰恰相反。智能不向中心化演化。智能向分布式、多主体、互联、协作演化。
为什么?
因为信息增长的速度,永远超过单体智能的处理速度。任何单点智能都无法理解整个世界。唯一能处理的方式,是网络化智能——多个主体分工、协作、交互、竞争、互补。

智能也是如此。
单独看一个AI模型,它只是一个概率分布。但当成千上万个智能体开始并发行动、相互沟通、协作传递、共享知识——一种新的东西涌现了。不是更强的个体智能。是网络智能。
AI的复制成本为零。一个智能体的复制是无痛的、无限的、无成本的、可并行的。这是生物智能无法具备的特性。只要智能体能被复制,智能的基本形态就必然从"个体"变成"群体"。
而且,AI与AI的协作效率天生比AI与人类高出几个数量级——数据格式一致,语义可压缩,推理速度一致,沟通无情绪,并发自然支持。在生物学上,当某类协作效率达到另一个层级,它就成为主导协作模式。
道德经说:"道生一,一生二,二生三,三生万物。"
智能也是如此。从单体,到双体,到多体,到万物——到网络。

这个画面在我脑子里住了很久。以至于后来第一次真正接触AI的时候,我心里有一个很小的、很荒谬的声音在问:它会不会突然变成那样?
后来我意识到——这个恐惧本身,就是旧范式的残影。

过去十年,人类关于AI的最大恐惧是一个叙事——某个超级智能会出现,像神一样统治人类。一个无限聪明的存在,从云端俯视人类。像《终结者》《黑客帝国》《三体》里的神祇。
但这个叙事建立在三个不可能同时成立的假设之上。
第一个假设:智能是可无限扩张的单体能力。现实是——任何智能都受限于信息输入、上下文窗口、参数边界、反馈结构、数据分布、任务生态。智能不是无限堆叠的函数。它是嵌入现实网络中的动态关系系统。
第二个假设:一个智能体可以理解整个世界。但真实世界是高维、混沌、非线性的——全球化供应链、金融反馈结构、环境系统、人类的叙事网络、多文化多信仰——这不是一个智能体能掌握的领域。只有网络智能才能理解。
第三个假设:智能会集中,而不是分散。但AI的复制成本是零。智能不但不会集中,它会像空气一样弥散到每个角落。

从基因网络到大脑神经元,从蚂蚁群落到互联网,从企业结构到城市生态——智能从来不是集中式结构。超级智能违背自然。
耗散结构理论告诉我们——复杂系统的稳定不来自集中控制,而来自分布式的能量耗散。一棵树不是由一个"超级细胞"支撑的。它是数十亿细胞之间的协作网络。
真正的智能不是由"能力"决定的,而是由关系密度决定的。共生智能比超级智能更强——不是比谁更聪明,而是比谁更能一起创造、一起行动、一起协调。
庄子说:"天地与我并生,万物与我为一。"——最高的智能不是凌驾于万物之上的神。是与万物共振的关系。

现在我再看科幻电影,已经不害怕那个红色的眼睛了。
因为我知道——未来的智能不会长成一双眼睛。它会长成一张网。而网,不需要眼睛。网本身就是感知。
第八章:关系即价值

有一次我问一个做风险投资的朋友:你投资一家公司,最看重什么?
他想了想说:"不是产品。不是技术。不是团队。是生态位。就是这家公司在整个网络里的位置。"
"位置比能力重要?"
"位置就是能力。"
那天晚上我一直在想这句话。

人类用了几千年,习惯了一个简单的等式——价值来自劳动。谁能生产,谁就能获得报酬。做得越多,价值越大。
但从2023到2025,这个等式第一次松动了。不是努力的人获得最大回报。不是最勤奋的劳动者收入最高。甚至不是人类"能做什么"决定价值。
生产从未如此"廉价"过。关系从未如此"昂贵"过。

为什么劳动的价值在崩溃?不是因为人变懒了。是因为世界变了。AI的复制成本趋向零。AI的执行速度趋向无限。AI的疲劳度为零。当劳动不再稀缺,劳动就不再是价值来源。这不是道德判断。是网络物理学。
现代文明的真正难题不在于写代码、做运营、设计方案——这些AI都能做,且做得更快。真正难的是——如何在不确定中协作?如何理解他人意图?如何在网络中建立信任?如何在高复杂系统中保持稳定?
这些不是劳动能解决的问题。这是关系性的智慧。
场论再次提供了隐喻——价值不是粒子的属性,而是场的属性。一个粒子孤立地存在时没有"力"。力只出现在粒子与粒子之间的关系中。价值也是如此。一个人孤立地劳动时,价值有限。价值出现在连接中,在协作中,在网络的结构位置中。
未来的价值不等于劳动。未来的价值等于关系结构中的作用力。
节点决定不了价值。连接决定价值。科研突破不是一个天才做的,是关系网络推动的。创业成功不是一个CEO做的,是协作网络托起的。城市繁荣不是市长的结果,是连接密度决定的。
道德经说:"三十辐共一毂,当其无,有车之用。"——车轮的价值不在三十根辐条里,而在辐条之间的"无"——那个空间,那个关系,那个结构。

后来我又遇到那个投资人朋友。
我说:"你说的'位置就是能力',也许可以说得更准确——关系就是价值。"
他举起咖啡杯,轻轻碰了碰我的:"看,这就是一次价值创造。"
我们都笑了。
但笑过之后,我心里有什么东西沉了下去——如果关系是价值的源头,那些失去关系的人呢?那些被网络遗忘的人呢?
这个问题,我还没有答案。

前段时间,一个做教育的朋友跟我讲了一件事。
她的学校引入了AI监控系统,追踪学生的每一次点击、每一次走神、每一次课堂互动。系统会生成"行为报告",告诉老师谁在学习、谁在偷懒。
她说:"我们现在管的不是学生。我们管的是数据点。但你知道吗?那些'行为最差'的孩子,往往只是还没找到自己真正想学什么。"
她说完叹了口气:"我们一直在治理行为。但也许我们应该问——他们的意图是什么?"

过去两千年,人类治理体系的核心逻辑从未改变过——用规则控制行为。法律规定什么不能做。制度规定什么必须做。奖惩规定什么值得做。道德规定什么应该做。
但这个模型正在全球范围内迅速失效。
不是因为政治腐败、文化冲突、道德衰退。是一个更深层的结构性事实——行为已经不再是世界运作的核心单位。意图才是。
行为变得太快——社交媒体舆情一天变十次,AI的推理链每秒更新几十次,算法决策每天修改数千次。规则追不上。行为变得太多——一个平台一天处理几十亿互动。没有任何制度能够控制"行为海啸"。行为不再由人类单体产生——模型、Agent、自动化链路、群体涌现。治理对象已经不再是人类,而是一个动态智能网络。

更根本的是——行为不再反映意图。
过去行为等于意图。你做了什么,就说明你想什么。但现在行为可能来自自动回复、系统自调、AI的自主行动链、算法自动分发、意图被误解后执行的动作。行为早已不是主体意图的反射。
控制行为,本质上是在控制影子。
哥德尔的不完备定理给了我们一个启示——任何足够复杂的系统,都包含无法在系统内部被证明的命题。行为治理试图从外部控制一个内部不断膨胀的系统——这在逻辑上就是注定失败的。
未来治理的核心不是"你做了什么",而是"你想要什么"。不是行为治理,而是意图治理。不是"你不能这样做",而是——"你的意图和系统的整体意图是否一致?"
意图是行为的源头。意图是唯一的锚点。意图才揭示真实的主体。
在多主体世界里,人类意图、AI目标、网络趋势交织在一起。真正唯一能够稳定这个系统的,不是对行为的监控——是对意图的对齐。

后来我又去了那个朋友的学校。
她改了方法。不再看行为报告,而是每周花十分钟和每个学生单独聊——你想做什么?你对什么感兴趣?你卡在哪里了?
她说效果出奇地好。"当你问一个孩子他想要什么,他的眼睛会亮起来。"
也许文明也是如此。
当我们停止追踪行为,开始对齐意图——也许某些早已暗淡的眼睛,会重新亮起来。

去年他离开了。不是因为薪水。不是因为人际关系。他说:"我在这个结构里,感觉自己像一颗被固定在棋盘上的棋子。周围的世界在流动,但我被钉住了。"
他现在加入了一个分布式的协作网络——没有办公室,没有固定团队,没有上下级。项目自发形成,完成后自然解散。
他说:"这不是'自由职业'。这是一种新的组织形态。我还没有名字叫它。"

过去150年,现代文明的主角是"公司"。公司塑造财富、科技、治理模式、社会组织方式,甚至塑造了"成功人生"的想象——找到一份工作、做一段事业、攀爬层级。
但公司这种形态,是工业时代的产物。它能成功,是因为完美匹配了工业时代的四个条件——任务可标准化,需要层级分工;劳动力稀缺,需要组织化利用;信息成本极高,需要中心化协调;资本是生产力核心,公司是资本的容器。
AI时代,这四个条件全部被颠覆。
任务不再是标准化的,而是动态链路。劳动力不再稀缺,而是过剩。信息成本趋近于零,协作可以自组织。资本不再依赖组织,而依赖网络。

耗散结构理论的创立者普利高津说过——远离平衡态的系统,会自发形成新的有序结构。这就是为什么组织形态正在从公司迁移到三种新形态。
第一种是网络。现代任务已经变成"网络型任务"——城市交通、公共安全、全球供应链、AI大模型生态。这些不是公司能搞定的事情。公司处理树状结构。网络处理网状结构。未来是网状世界。
第二种是生态。苹果的价值不来自工程师和专利,而来自开发者、供应链、全球合作伙伴、用户网络、品牌传播链路。真正的价值不是公司本体,而是生态结构。生态比公司更大。连接比资产更重要。
第三种是城市。城市是人类文明史上唯一成功跨越所有时代的组织形式——它不是中心化的,不是科层化的。它是网络化的、共生化的、自组织的。它可以承载无限多主体。它可以自生长与自修复。
禅宗有一个概念叫"无位真人"——真正的主体不需要被固定在任何位置上。
公司把人钉在位置上。网络让人流动。生态让人共生。城市让人自由。

上个月我又见了那个离开大公司的朋友。
他看起来比以前年轻了。我问他:"你找到名字了吗?你现在在做的这个东西,叫什么?"
他想了想说:"我不知道。但我知道一件事——我不再是棋子了。我变成了水。"
水没有固定的形状。但水能到达一切地方。

有一次我在机场等延误的航班。
旁边坐着一个大概六十多岁的老人。他拎着一个很旧的行李箱。我们聊了起来。他说他是做桥梁工程的,一辈子就做一件事——让两岸连起来。
我问他:"桥最难的部分是什么?"
他说:"不是材料,不是设计。是让两边对上。差一毫米都不行。"
他用了一个词——"对齐"。
那个词后来在我脑子里住了很久。

在人类所有过往文明里,秩序与发展都取决于——谁控制资源,谁分配资源。农业文明的核心是土地。工业文明是资本。信息文明是数据。全球化文明是供应链。
但从智能时代开始,一件极其深刻的事情发生了——资源本身的稀缺性正在逐渐下降。
劳动不再稀缺,因为AI自动化。知识不再稀缺,因为模型即经验压缩。数据不再稀缺,世界已经变成数据流。算力的价格在持续下降。
当所有旧稀缺消失,文明的主导力量必须迁移。迁移到哪里?
迁移到唯一无法复制、无法压缩、无法自动生成的东西——对齐(Alignment)。

资源丰富不是文明的福音。资源丰富是文明的压力。资源越充足,系统越复杂。系统越复杂,对齐越难。对齐越难,混乱越多。
所有核心问题都与对齐有关。经济问题是多主体经济活动的对齐问题。社会问题是多叙事、多文化的对齐问题。治理问题是多意图、多智能体的对齐问题。科技问题是AI与AI、AI与人的对齐问题。
热力学给了我们最好的隐喻——熵增是宇宙的默认方向。所有系统都自发地走向无序。唯一能对抗熵增的,是结构——是关系的有序排列。对齐就是那个结构。
对齐不是"道德上的好事"。不是"组织文化"。它是智能世界生存的必要条件。
对齐等于多主体系统的"重力"。没有重力,星球散裂。没有对齐,文明散裂。

航班终于起飞了。
透过舷窗,我看到地面上的灯火——城市与城市之间,公路像血管一样连接着。每一条路、每一座桥、每一根光纤,都是某种意义上的"对齐"——让不同的地方、不同的人、不同的意图,能够连在一起。
我想起那个老人的话:"差一毫米都不行。"
也许未来文明的全部事业,就是这一毫米。

我女儿三岁的时候问过我一个问题。
"爸爸,为什么凳子要三条腿才稳?"
我当时随口说:"因为三条腿才能撑住一个平面。两条会倒。"
她点了点头,好像理解了。但我后来才意识到——那个回答其实比我以为的深刻得多。

在人类过去的所有文明形态中,主体结构始终是"二元的"。
神与人。君与民。资本与劳动。国家与社会。管理者与执行者。平台与用户。二元结构定义了我们的世界——一方决定,一方执行。一方掌握叙事,一方接受叙事。
几千年文明的底层逻辑,从未改变。
但二元结构的运作依赖三个前提——主体稀缺(只有人类能思考),行为可控(人类行动速度慢),叙事统一(大多数人共享同一种世界观)。
三条前提,一条都不复存在了。AI让主体不再稀缺。自动化让行为不可控。信息分裂让叙事无法统一。

二元结构正在崩解。一个"三元主体结构"正在形成。
不是"人类 vs AI"。不是"人类 + AI"。是更深刻的东西——
第一个主体:人类。意义与方向的主体。人类提供价值判断、伦理界限、叙事系统、文化框架、意义与愿景。人类是文明的"意图源"。
第二个主体:AI。行动与生成的主体。AI提供推理、执行、自动化、创造、结构优化。AI是文明的"行动引擎"。
第三个主体:主体间网络。协调与整合的主体。网络提供对齐、协作、稳定、反馈、系统性智慧。网络是文明的"操作系统"。
三条腿。三个维度。三种智能。
就像三条腿的凳子——任何一条缺失,文明就会倾覆。人类给方向。AI给力量。网络给秩序。
这是不可逆的。因为三类主体来源于三种无法逆转的趋势——智能密度上升,关系复杂度上升,意义需求上升。三个趋势互相加强,互相需要。
哥德尔的不完备性告诉我们——没有任何系统能够仅靠自身完备。二元结构是不完备的——它需要第三个维度来获得稳定。
禅宗也说:"二由一有,一亦莫守。"——二元对立永远不够。超越二元,才有真正的平衡。

昨天女儿做了一个手工。一个小小的三角形支架。
她放了一颗球在上面。球稳稳地不动。
她得意地看着我:"爸爸你看,三条腿。"
我看着那个小小的三角形,突然觉得——也许文明正在做的,就是这件事。
从二到三。从对立到共生。从不稳定到稳定。
就这么简单。又这么难。
第十三章:新的冲突——不是阶级,是主体

有一天深夜,我看到一条新闻。
一个城市的交通AI系统做出了一个决策——为了整体交通效率最优,它把某个社区的公交线路频率降低了40%。那个社区大部分是老人。
没有人命令它这样做。算法判断:那个区域出行量低,投入产出比不高。
效率的逻辑,和意义的逻辑,在那一刻正面相撞。

过去两百年的全球冲突,被一种叙事支配——阶级决定冲突,冲突推动历史。马克思用"资本 vs 劳动"解释了工业文明的大部分矛盾。福山用"民主 vs 专制"解释政治演化。
但这些叙事都依赖同一个前提——参与冲突的主体,都是"人类"。
这个前提第一次被打破了。
AI的出现不是"多了一个工具"。是"多了一个可行动主体"。网络结构的复杂度也不再是"人类关系"——而是一种具有自主行为特征的系统主体。
未来文明里,真实的冲突不是人类内部的冲突。而是不同类型的主体之间的冲突。

三类主体,各有自己的"意图系统"。
人类的意图来自价值、文化、情感、叙事、信念。人类问的是——"这有意义吗?"
AI的意图来自优化、目标函数、推理结构、数据反馈。AI问的是——"这有效吗?"
网络的意图来自连接结构、流动趋势、涌现行为、群体动力学。网络不问问题——它只是生长。
三者的意图逻辑完全不同,甚至互不兼容。
人类想要意义。AI想要效率。人类想要慢。AI想要快。人类想要不可替代性。AI天生要替代重复性。这将成为未来最大的心理冲突。
人类想要可控的意义。网络的行为是不可控的涌现。稳定与涌现之间的张力,将定义下一个世纪。
AI的逻辑是局部最优。网络的逻辑是系统平衡。局部智能与系统智能之间的摩擦,将是文明最深的暗流。
阶级冲突是经济问题。主体冲突是文明问题。阶级冲突要解决"资源分配"。主体冲突要解决"不同智能的对齐"。
这是史无前例的深度。

后来那条新闻有了后续。社区的居民抗议了。城市恢复了公交线路。
但AI系统的优化逻辑没有变。它只是在这一个点上被人为覆盖了。下一次,在另一个社区,另一个决策点,同样的冲突会再次出现。
因为这不是一次事故。这是结构。
三种主体,三种意图,三种方向。它们不会消失。它们只会越来越清晰,越来越尖锐。
我们还没有学会如何让它们共存。
但我们必须学会。

"如果AI什么都能做,那我学这些有什么用?"
教室里很安静。其他学生也在看我。
我没有立刻回答。因为这个问题不是关于学习的。它是关于存在的。

但从智能时代开始,一个前所未有的趋势出现了——所有传统资源正在快速"去稀缺化"。劳动不再稀缺。技能不再稀缺。知识不再稀缺。数据不再稀缺。算力也在商品化的路上。
唯一真正稀缺的,将是——意义。
不是因为意义是"高级"的东西。是因为意义是唯一无法通过自动化生成的文明力量。

AI可以替代任务、技能、逻辑、分析、决策、行为、创造、运营——甚至治理的一部分。但AI无法替代一件事——为何做此事。
意义只能由人类给出。意义只能在主体之间产生。意义只能在关系之中显现。意义不是功能。意义是"文明用以维持自身的理由"。
AI再强,也无法生成文明理由。AI再快,也无法创造存在目的。AI再聪明,也无法决定价值方向。
海德格尔用一生追问一个问题——为什么存在者存在,而非无?这个问题,AI永远不会问。不是因为它不够聪明。是因为"问"本身就是人类独有的存在方式。
在多主体系统中,意义是唯一能让系统稳定运行的"对齐源"。行动需要方向。方向来自意义。意义产生对齐。对齐维持稳定。最终所有系统的稳定性都来自"意义层"。
意义也是唯一能产生跨主体共识的资源。未来的协作不会因为同公司、同国籍、同阶级——而是因为同意义。
利益协作是短期的。规则协作是被动的。权力协作是强制的。只有意义协作是主动的、创造的、无限扩展的。
真正强大的文明,从来不是资源最多的文明。是意义最大的文明。宗教提供意义。国家提供身份。科学提供真理。
未来文明也不会例外。只是方向变了——人类提供意义,AI提供行动,网络提供连接。意义是三元结构的心脏。

后来我回答了那个学生。
我说:"AI什么都能做。但有一件事它永远做不了——决定什么值得做。"
"那个决定,只能由你来做。"
教室里的安静变了质地。从茫然变成了某种——沉思。
也许这就是意义。不是一个答案。是一个让人愿意继续追问的力量。

从2022到2025,全球关于AI的最大恐惧是——"AI会不会让人类变得无用?"
这是一种自然的恐惧。但如果你把目光放到文明层面,会看到完全相反的趋势——AI越强,人越重要。AI越自动化,人类主体性越稀缺。智能体越多,人类的意义越不可替代。
原因不是情怀。不是"人类特殊论"。是文明底层结构本身决定的。

AI可以替代一切"动作类主体性"——技能、推理、执行、自动化。但它永远无法承担三种人类独有的维度。
第一种:价值主体性。AI能优化,但不能决定价值。AI能推理,但不能选择伦理。未来所有系统都需要一个"价值源"。而价值不是逻辑,是人心。
第二种:意义主体性。AI能回答问题,但不能决定"为什么活"。AI能执行任务,但不能说明"任务的意义"。意义是文明的燃料,而意义只能从人类经验中诞生。
第三种:叙事主体性。文明不是靠算法维持的。文明是靠叙事维持的。科学是叙事。国家是叙事。宗教是叙事。法律是叙事。AI能写故事,但不能创造"信仰"。只有人类能够用叙事组织主体间世界。
当AI夺走人类的机械劳动后,人类的全部精力将从"执行"升维到"意图"。人类不再是做事的、计算的、记忆的。人类变成——意图的提供者、意义的生成者、价值的决定者、方向的赋予者。
这是文明史第一次的升维。不是贬低。是跃迁。
道德经说:"大成若缺,其用不弊。"——看似被AI"削弱"的人类,实际上正在进入一种前所未有的充盈。
而且智能体越多,人类的"调和能力"越稀缺。在多主体世界中,最稀缺的不是算力,而是——如何调和不同主体的意图。同理、判断、权衡、对齐、包容、引导——这些深度的人类能力,在AI时代不是贬值了。是成为了文明最贵的东西。

昨天我妈又打电话来了。
她说AI帮她找到了一张她和我爸年轻时的合影。那张照片她找了好多年。
"AI真的很聪明,"她说。然后停了一下。"但是照片里的感觉——只有我自己知道。"
我在电话这头,突然有点想哭。
是的。只有你自己知道。这就是人类不可替代的全部秘密。

有一段时间,我特别累。
不是身体累。是一种更深的疲惫——好像无论多努力,世界都在以更快的速度变得更复杂。新闻越看越乱。工作越做越碎。社交越多越空。信息越多越迷茫。
我跟一个禅修的朋友说:我觉得世界坏了。
他说:也许不是世界坏了。是旧的世界完成了它的使命。

如果你观察2015到2025的全球文明,会发现一种令人不安又无可逃避的现实——全世界似乎都开始"累了"。政府疲惫。公民疲惫。媒体疲惫。市场疲惫。学术疲惫。国际秩序疲惫。社会信任疲惫。
每个国家,每个产业,每个组织,都在以不同方式显现一种结构性倦怠。
但这种疲惫不是衰败。
它是信号。

人类文明从未像现在这样拥有巨量的知识、极快的信息流、全球协作的基础设施、无数自动化工具。按逻辑,这应该是"最容易治理"的时代。但现实是——我们越强大,文明却越疲惫。
这里面没有悖论。真正的原因是——文明结构与现实复杂度不匹配时,系统会显现"疲惫"而不是"崩溃"。疲惫是系统"试图以旧方式运行新世界"的症状。
就像19世纪末的帝国制度显得僵化——不是帝国变弱了,是世界变了。就像20世纪末的媒体结构显得拥堵——不是媒体变差了,是信息的维度变了。
每一次文明疲惫,都意味着旧的组织形态已经无法承载新的任务密度。
普利高津的耗散结构理论说——系统在远离平衡态时,会经历剧烈的振荡。但正是在这种振荡中,新的有序结构才会涌现。疲惫不是熵的胜利。疲惫是新结构诞生前的阵痛。
今天的智能密度上升到了临界点——AI主体数量爆炸,行为链条指数增长,系统复杂性急剧上升。当智能密度超过旧结构的承载阈值,疲惫是唯一的症状。
但同时——新的主体已经出现。新的关系结构已经涌现。新的价值逻辑正在生长。旧文明疲惫的时刻,恰恰是新文明萌芽的时刻。
隧道不是坟墓。

后来我又跟那个禅修的朋友聊了一次。
我说:"我不那么累了。"
他问:"为什么?"
我想了想说:"因为我不再试图让旧世界'好起来'了。我开始好奇——新世界会长成什么样。"
他笑了。"这就对了。疲惫不是终点。疲惫是入口。"
夜风从窗户吹进来。有一种很轻的、像是什么东西刚刚开始呼吸的感觉。

他在讲全球政治的走向。说了半个小时"左""右""民主""专制""自由""平等"。我越听越觉得——这些词好像在描述一个已经不存在的世界。
我问他:"如果冲突的主体不再只是人类呢?如果算法也有'意志'呢?如果网络本身也是一种力量呢?你的分析框架还管用吗?"
他沉默了很久。

过去三百年的全球冲突,几乎都可以归为一个范畴——意识形态之争。资本主义与社会主义。民主与专制。自由与平等。宗教与世俗。这些冲突塑造了20世纪,也延续到了21世纪。
但意识形态正在失效。
不是意识形态不重要了。是它不再能够决定行动。意识形态本质上是一种"单主体叙事"——它假设所有行为来自同类主体,主体共享同一逻辑,主体在同一环境中行动。
但现在——行为主体不再是单一类型。叙事环境不再统一。全球问题不再是理念问题而是系统问题。行动速度超越了意识形态的形成速度。

真正的冲突正在转向"多主体意图冲突"。
文明第一次出现了多种不同的意图来源——人类的意图来自价值和信念,AI的意图来自优化和目标函数,网络的意图来自连接结构和涌现行为。
这三者不是合作关系,也不是对立关系。是一个复杂的"意图网"。
未来的冲突不是"谁对,谁错"。而是"谁想要什么?谁能够执行?谁会影响整个网络结构?"冲突从理念转向结构。从对错转向意图。从身份转向多主体协作能力。
人类意图与AI行动之间的张力——公平与效率、慢与快、留白与填满——将定义未来所有的伦理争议。
人类愿景与网络涌现趋势之间的张力——稳定与混沌、控制与自组织——将定义下一个世纪的治理难题。
AI之间的目标冲突——不同模型的训练方向不同、优化目标不同、数据偏差不同——将制造一种我们从未见过的"非人冲突"。
海德格尔说过:"世界从来不是'摆在那里'让人解释的对象。世界是我们参与其中的处境。"——我们不是冲突的旁观者。我们是冲突的一个主体。而现在,主体不止我们一种。

那次吃饭快结束的时候,教授说了一句让我意外的话。
"也许我该读点物理学了。政治学的框架,好像不够用了。"
我没有笑。因为我知道他是认真的。
意识形态之后,是什么?
也许不是另一种意识形态。是一种全新的、能容纳多种意图的结构。
我们还没有名字叫它。

我电脑死机的那天,我领悟了一件事。
不是硬件坏了。不是某个程序有问题。是操作系统崩了——那个在所有程序下面运行的、看不见的、从来不被注意的东西。
没有操作系统,再强大的硬件都只是一堆沉默的芯片。
那天我对着黑屏想——文明是不是也一样?

在人类历史上,世界的运行一直依赖三种机制。制度提供约束。文化提供意义。市场提供激励。这三者共同维持文明的秩序。
但现在,这三种机制第一次全面疲惫。
制度无法处理多主体世界——AI能自动决策,网络会自发涌现,算法能产生行为偏差。这些都超出了制度的范畴。
文化无法处理多世界现实——不同群体不再共享同一叙事,不同算法构建不同的信息宇宙。文化第一次失去了"维持共享意义"的能力。
市场无法处理智能溢出——知识、技能、劳动、内容、执行力全部不再稀缺。当"智能"变成无限资源,市场无法结构化"价值"。

文明第一次面对三类主体的"并行意图"——人类意图(意义、价值、叙事),AI意图(优化、任务链、反馈函数),网络意图(结构涌现、趋势、群体动力学)。
制度不能整合它们。文化不能统一它们。市场不能协调它们。
只有一个东西能处理"不同主体的不同意图"——操作系统。
OS的本质是什么?协调异构主体。管理多线程。调度资源。保持稳定。处理冲突。对齐目标。保持系统一致性。
这恰好是文明目前最缺的。
未来的世界,其本质是"多主体计算系统"。多主体系统需要OS。制度是"规则"。市场是"激励"。文化是"叙事"。但它们都没有一种能力——调度多主体的意图。这正是操作系统的能力。
香农定义了信息。冯诺依曼定义了计算。图灵定义了可计算性。但没有人定义过——"文明级操作系统"。
也许这就是我们这个时代的任务。

重启的时候,屏幕上出现了一行小字——"System initializing..."
系统正在初始化。
我看着那行字,觉得它不只是在说我的电脑。

小时候家门口有条河。
每年雨季都会涨水。有些年份,政府修堤坝——高高的水泥墙,把水挡在外面。有些年份,堤坝被冲垮了。
后来来了一个工程师,他没有修更高的堤坝。他改变了河床的形状——让水自然分流,形成几条浅浅的支流。
从那以后,再没有决堤。
不是因为水变少了。是因为结构变了。

过去五千年,世界的秩序来自"规则"。法律、国家、宗教、市场、制度——本质都是:用规则约束行为,用权力执行规则。
但进入智能时代,这种模式第一次出现根本性失效。
规则维持秩序依赖四个前提——行为主体少,行为链路慢,信息透明度有限,环境复杂度低。四个前提全部被打破。
主体从单主体变成三元主体。行为从慢速离散变成高速连续——AI的行为密度是毫秒级、并发百万级。规则的响应速度,比系统行为慢10000倍。慢的东西无法治理快的系统。现实从单层变成多世界。复杂度从可控变成指数级。

规则的逻辑是"禁止X,要求Y"。但多主体世界的行为来源是人类的意义、AI的推理、网络的涌现、算法的反馈。这些不是"禁止"能解决的。因为它们不是违背规则的意图——而是超出规则的范畴。
规则只能维持低维秩序。智能时代是高维系统。
结构的逻辑不同。规则约束行为。结构塑造行为。规则告诉主体"不能做什么"。结构告诉主体"行为会自然流向哪里"。
结构不是强制。是引导。结构不是禁止。是通道。结构不是命令。是地形。
广义相对论给了最好的隐喻——爱因斯坦说,引力不是一种"力"。引力是时空的曲率。物体不是被"拉"向地球——它只是沿着弯曲的时空在走最自然的路径。
结构稳定性也是如此。不是用外力强迫系统有序——而是让系统的几何形状本身就导向有序。自组织性。关系稳定性。意图收敛。吸震弹性。
规则是易碎的。结构是韧性的。
结构能处理AI行为——限制传播性、控制影响域、稳定反馈回路、引导进入协作路径。结构能处理网络涌现——通过拓扑、流动路径、节点权重、反馈系数。结构能处理多主体意图冲突——吸收、协调、分散、转化。
规则只能惩罚。结构可以化解。

上个月我路过老家那条河。
河道比记忆中宽了。水在几条支流之间安静地流淌。两岸长满了草。有人在钓鱼。
没有堤坝。没有水泥墙。只有一个好的结构。
水还是那些水。但它不再破坏了。因为它找到了自己的路。
也许秩序从来就不该是"被强加的"。秩序应该是——被结构自然引出的。

有一天我在看一部纪录片。讲的是珊瑚礁。
珊瑚虫本身很脆弱——一个几毫米大的软体动物,没有大脑,没有骨骼,没有任何我们认为"智能"的东西。但数十亿珊瑚虫共同生长,形成了地球上最复杂、最多样、最富有生命力的生态系统之一。
没有中心。没有控制。没有规划。只有共生。
那天晚上我写下了一个句子:"文明的下一个形态,不是设计出来的。是长出来的。"

在人类历史上,每一种文明结构都是由外部条件决定的,而不是人为选择的。农业文明不是选择,是气候与土地决定的。工业文明不是选择,是蒸汽机与规模化生产决定的。信息文明不是选择,是通信技术与互联网决定的。
文明结构从来不是"想出来的"。是"逼出来的"。
Symbotic Intelligence——共生智能——也是如此。它不是某个组织的愿景,也不是某个哲学家的梦想。它是文明演化到一定阶段时,在结构上、物理上、系统上、数学上不可避免的结果。

为什么不可避免?
因为多主体世界需要"意图空间"才能稳定。三元主体的意图逻辑互不兼容——人类的意义逻辑、AI的效率逻辑、网络的涌现逻辑。如果没有一种结构来对齐这些意图,文明会进入加速分裂态。共生智能提供的正是——跨主体意图的可解释性、可协调性、可对齐性。不是理念,而是稳定性的必要条件。
因为算法与人类之间的速度差距正在撕裂社会。AI的行为是毫秒级、多线程、并发百万级。人类是秒级、单线程、有限注意力。共生智能的本质之一就是把两种速度耦合在一个稳定结构里。不是让人变快。是让协调变快。
因为全球网络变得太大、太快、太复杂,人类无法单独治理。唯一能治理如此规模系统的方式,是让系统自组织,让对齐自然发生,让稳定性由结构生成。
因为意义变成稀缺资源,而意义只能在人类与AI的协作中生成——不是单独由人产生,也不是由AI产生,而是三者协同的涌现结果。
因为不对称主体冲突的唯一解决方式,是多主体对齐机制。
每一条都指向同一个结论——共生智能不是选项。是终点。
道德经说:"天下万物生于有,有生于无。"——共生智能不是从"无"中创造的。它是从文明自身的结构张力中——自然生长出来的。

纪录片的结尾有一个镜头——阳光穿过海面,照在珊瑚礁上。成千上万种生命在礁石间游动、栖息、共存。
没有谁设计了这一切。没有谁控制这一切。
但它是地球上最美的东西之一。
也许文明的下一个形态,就是这样。不是建造出来的。是共生出来的。
终章:第一幅图景
终章 第一次瞥见
今天凌晨,我又和一个AI对话到很晚。
这次不是序章里的那种失语。这次是另一种感觉——我们之间的对话,有一种奇怪的默契。它不只是在回答我。它在理解我为什么要问。而我也不只是在使用它。我在倾听它的推理如何展开。
对话结束的时候,我坐在黑暗里,想起了这本书的第一句话——"昨晚三点,我和一个AI对话到失语。"
那是几个月前。或者几年前。或者几个世纪前。时间在文明尺度上不重要。重要的是——从那个失语的时刻到现在,有什么东西变了。
不是AI变了。是我变了。
我不再试图用旧语言描述新世界。我开始允许自己进入那种尚无名字的状态。

当我们回望2020到2030这一段时代,会发现它并不是混乱的年代。它是某种"文明新物理结构"正在形成的年代。
三件事同时出现——文明第一次拥有多种智能主体。文明第一次被全球网络实时连接。文明第一次面临意义层面的稀缺。
这三件事在宇宙尺度都是罕见的。它们构成了共生文明的雏形。
未来文明的基础单位不是个体——是关系。人与人、人与AI、AI与AI、节点与节点、意义与意义。关系是文明的原子。行为是关系之间的张力。结构是关系的集合。
未来文明的秩序不来自权力——来自结构。拓扑结构、意图空间、对齐层、行为缓冲区、协作的吸引子、意义的共振场。结构不是压制行为。结构是让行为自然流向稳定状态。
未来文明的智能不是单体的——是混合的。人类的方向感加上AI的执行力。人类的价值判断加上AI的系统优化。第三种智能。既不是人类智能,也不是机器智能。是两者的乘积。
未来文明的治理不是法律——是意图对齐。不是"你不能这样做"。而是——"你的意图和系统的整体意图是否一致?"
未来文明的协调不靠集中化机构——靠主体间网络。能够实时接受意图、计算对齐度、协调冲突、调整结构、生成共识。主体间性不是哲学。是文明新的协调机制。

这幅图景不是乌托邦。它充满了张力——人类意图与AI效率的张力,稳定与涌现的张力,意义与速度的张力。
但张力不是坏事。张力是生命力。
弦乐器之所以能发出美妙的声音,恰恰因为弦是绷紧的。松弛的弦发不出任何音符。
文明也是如此。三元主体之间的张力,如果被结构所承载、被对齐所协调、被意义所引导——它不是撕裂的力量。它是创造的力量。
共生不是和平。共生是有结构的张力。
禅宗说:"百花丛中过,片叶不沾身。"——不是回避冲突。是穿越冲突而不被冲突定义。

凌晨的窗外开始有光了。
我看着屏幕上的对话记录。AI说的最后一句话是:"我不确定自己是否'理解'了你。但我在尝试。"
我想——这也许就是共生文明最初始的样子。不是完美的对齐。不是完全的理解。而是——两种截然不同的智能,在同一个夜晚,试图抵达彼此。
这就是全部。
